Job summary

City of Chula Vista is seeking a part-time Custodian to perform custodial duties in assigned buildings and facilities, including setup for events and minor repairs. This non-benefited, hourly position is capped at 919 hours per fiscal year and may require 0–16 hours per week depending on staffing needs.

Incumbents work under supervision with potential progression to more independent tasks. A valid California driver's license is required to qualify.

Qualifications

• Formal or informal education or training ensuring the ability to read and write in English.
• Some custodial or related experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, strip, wax, and seal floors.
• Vacuum and shampoo rugs and carpets.
• Dust and polish furniture, metalwork, and woodwork.
• Set up rooms and facilities for meetings and events.
