Job summary

City of Chula Vista, CA is seeking a part-time, non-benefited employee to assist with shelving, cataloging, guest services, and circulation tasks in the library. The position is limited to 919 hours in a fiscal year (July 1 through June 30) with an average of less than 30 service hours per week and daily hours ranging from 0 to 16 per week.

Hourly employees are paid on an hourly basis and are not eligible for benefits or Civil Service rules.

Qualifications

• Training equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
• This is an entry-level position with training provided as needed.

Responsibilities

• Shelve library books and materials and charge/discharge library materials.
• Update guest records using the circulation system.
• Assist guests with access to public computers and printing.
• Greet library guests and direct them to appropriate resources.
• Perform routine filing and shelving; handle deliveries and stack maintenance.
