Job summary

Estrella Foothills High School in Goodyear, AZ is seeking a Part-Time Night Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment. This 20-hour per week role runs Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m.

to 7:00 p.m., with wage guidelines set by the district and experience considered in compensation. The position reports to the Plant Foreman and requires a valid AZ IVP FPCC, MSDS/bloodborne pathogen training, and custodial experience.

This position is for a Part-Time Nightcustodian at Estrella Foothills High School.

Part-Time Position (20 hours);9 months; Hours are M-F 3:00p.m. to 7:00p.m.

Wage per the Classified Salary Guidelines, the experience will be considered

The position reports directly to the EFHS plant foreman

POSITION JOB TITLE: Custodian

POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Classified

POSITION SUPERVISION: Plant Foreman

GENERAL STATEMENT OF POSITION’S PURPOSE: To play an integral part in ensuring a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient environment for students to learn and develop.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).

EDUCATION AND / OR TRAINING

• Less than a high school diploma
• MSDS and blood borne pathogens training

EXPERENCE:

• Less than one year experience in custodial work is preferred

• Ability to communicate and work well with staff, parents and children.

DEMONSTRATE KNOWLEDGE / PROFICIENCY OF EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, MATERIALS AND SKILLS:

• Vacuum
• Cleaning Chemicals
• General hand tools

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

• May be required to alter working hours to perform regular assigned duties
• Deliver equipment and supplies
• Cleans restrooms as needed
• Setting-up and taking-down of all school-related activities and events.
• Moves furniture and equipment as needed
• Raises the United States Flag before school and retires the flag after school hours.
• Report’s safety hazards and the need for major and minor repairs.
• Keeps grounds free rubbish.
• Sweeps, vacuums, dusts, and empty trash as needed.
• Cleans corridors, when warranted, during the day.
• Assists the maintenance technician.
• Assists with securing the buildings
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Communicate with Supervisor when problems occur.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Must use own initiative and judgment in performing job.
• Performs as directed; responsible for own job under direct supervision.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Periodic exposure to hazardous materials such as blood born pathogens, high voltage, gas and heights.
