Buckeye Union High School District BUHSD Learning Center in Buckeye, Arizona is seeking a Part-Time Custodian for The Learning Center. Hours are 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., 9 months, starting immediately.

The role involves cleaning, setting up events, delivering supplies, and assisting with building security under the LC plant foreman. Previous custodial experience is preferred; MSDS and bloodborne pathogens training are noted.

Responsibilities

• Deliver equipment and supplies.
• Cleans restrooms as needed.
• Set up and take down of school events.
• Move furniture and equipment as needed.
• Raise the US flag before and retire after school hours.
• Report safety hazards and repairs.
• Keep grounds free of rubbish.
• Sweep, vacuum, dust and empty trash.
• Communicate with Supervisor when problems occur.

Job Details

• Position Type: Part-Time
• Hours: 2:00p.m. to 6:00p.m.
• Salary: $16.93 to $18.18 Per Hour
• Location: Buckeye, Arizona
• Work Start: Immediately

Job Description

This position is for a Part-Time Custodian at The Learning Center.

Part-Time Position (less than 20 hours); 9 months; Hours are 2:00p.m. to 6:00p.m.

Wage per the Classified Salary Guidelines, the experience will be considered.

The position reports directly to the LC plant foreman.

Education and / OR Training

• Less than a high school diploma
• MSDS and blood born pathogens training

Experience

• Less than one year experience in custodial work is preferred
• Ability to communicate and work well with staff, parents and children.

Demonstrate Knowledge / Proficiency of Equipment, Tools, Materials and Skills

• Vacuum
• Cleaning Chemicals
• General hand tools

Principal Duties

• May be required to alter working hours to perform regular assigned duties
• Deliver equipment and supplies
• Cleans restrooms as needed
• Setting-up and taking-down of all school-related activities and events.
• Moves furniture and equipment as needed
• Raises the United States Flag before school and retires the flag after school hours.
• Report’s safety hazards and the need for major and minor repairs.
• Keeps grounds free rubbish.
• Sweeps, vacuums, dusts, and empty trash as needed.
• Cleans corridors, when warranted, during the day.
• Assists the maintenance technician.
• Assists with securing the buildings
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Communicate with Supervisor when problems occur.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Performs as directed; responsible for own job under direct supervision.

• Completes work with minimum contact with others

• Routine work with little planning needed

Working Conditions:

• Periodic exposure to hazardous materials such as blood born pathogens, high voltage, gas and heights.

Physical Requirements (approximate percentage of times)

• Sit approximately 0% of the time
• Walk approximately 90% of the time
• Stand approximately 5% of the time
• Kneeling / Stooping approximately 5% of the time
• Lift on a regular basis 30 to 40 lbs.
• Reaching with hands and arms on a regular basis
• Ability to wear respirator and gloves as needed
