Job summary

EASTCONN is seeking a reliable part-time Custodian for the Hampton Administrative Offices to maintain a clean, safe environment for staff and visitors. The position offers 4 hours per day, Monday through Friday, for a 12-month period, with duties spanning general cleaning to minor maintenance tasks.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to work independently, and comply with safety and hygiene standards. A background check is required. This role is based in Hampton, CT.

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial work preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to staying very clean.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent schedule.
• Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties: sweep, mop, dust, vacuum; may include outdoor winter work.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, restock supplies, maintain hygiene standards.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
• Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or replacing air filters.
• Ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are stored and used properly.
