Job summary

La Academia is seeking a part-time custodian to develop and implement custodial services, ensuring a clean, safe, healthy, and attractive facility with no disruption to educational programs. Reports to Custodial & Nutrition Manager. Duties include cleaning floors, restrooms, surfaces, assisting with supplies, and following safety regulations.

Physical requirements and background checks apply. 4pm start, 5.5 hours daily, Monday–Friday.

• Previous experience as a custodian or in a related field.

• Restocks disposable items and provides supervisor with inventory usage and data.

JOB DESCRIPTION

La Academia's custodian, you will develop and implement custodial services in order to provide a clean, comfortable, healthy, safe, and attractive facility with no disruption to educational programs.

REPORTS TO:

Reports to Custodial & Nutrition Manager

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs general custodial responsibilities; (i.e. scrub, wax, buff, dust, sweep or clean floors, walls, blinds, furniture, lavatories, locker rooms, lockers, shelves, offices, fixtures and glass surfaces and take out trash) as required to preserve designated spaces.
• Assists in maintaining seasonal grounds work (i.e. snow removal, lawn care).
• Restocks disposable items and provides supervisor with inventory usage and data.
• Assists in the delivery of supplies and equipment.
• Assists outside organizations using school facilities, as assigned.
• Follows all school and building safety regulations.
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience as s a custodian or in a related field.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND BEHAVIORS:

• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community.
• Perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Directors policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this job.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; such as cleaning supplies, pails and unloading trucks. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables, bleachers and scrubbing machines.
