Job summary

Cuyahoga Falls Library is seeking a dependable Part-Time Custodian to keep the building clean, safe, and welcoming for patrons and staff. The role pays $15.39/hour and includes paid vacation, sick, personal, and holidays, with a 20-hour workweek and a Monday shift from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM plus additional weekday or weekend shifts.

The position involves custodial cleaning, meeting room setup, urgent cleaning response, general upkeep, and seasonal grounds maintenance.

Job description

Cuyahoga Falls Library is looking for a dependable, service-oriented Part-Time Custodian to help keep the Library clean, safe, and welcoming for patrons, staff, and programs. The pay is $15.39/hour and includes paid vacation, sick, personal, and holidays.

This position is responsible for custodial cleaning throughout the library building and property, meeting room setup and take down, urgent cleaning response, general facility upkeep, and assistance with seasonal grounds maintenance.

Schedule

This part-time position works 20 hours per week. The schedule includes an eight-hour shift on Mondays from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, plus two or more additional weekday or weekend shifts. Days and times will vary based on Library needs.

What you’ll do

• Clean and maintain library spaces, furniture, restrooms, meeting rooms, and public areas.
• Set up and take down rooms for library programs, meetings, and community use.
• Respond promptly to urgent cleaning needs and help maintain a safe environment.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, inspections, projects, emergency procedures, grounds upkeep, and snow removal as assigned.
• Provide clear communication with team members and staff
• Basic computer skills

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate is reliable, professional, and able to work independently while following directions and maintaining excellent service to staff and patrons. Experience with buildings and grounds is preferred. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required.

Physical requirements

This position may require standing, walking, reaching, moving furniture, climbing stairs, using custodial equipment and tools, carrying trash, shoveling snow, and lifting up to 75 pounds.
