Job summary

Worthington Libraries is seeking a Custodian under direct supervision to assist with safety, security, maintenance and cleaning of library buildings and grounds.

The position performs restroom cleaning, floor and room upkeep, waste disposal, meeting-room setup, and responds to facilities tickets while supporting security and outdoor areas, with occasional travel between library locations using a personal vehicle.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of paid work experience.
• Valid driver’s license with access to insured vehicle.
• Ability to travel between library locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and refills dispensers.
• Performs general maintenance of floors, walls, windows, blinds, carpets and furniture.
• Empties and cleans trash receptacles.
• Prepares rooms for meetings according to meeting room set-up requests.
• Responds to Facilities Help Desk tickets and emails.
• Assists with the safety and security of buildings and grounds.
• Maintains outside walkways, including sweeping debris and snow removal.
• Collects and delivers materials and supplies between library locations as needed.
• Moves furniture, equipment, supplies and tools, as needed.
• Performs minor repairs, as needed.

Education, Training and/or Experience

High school diploma or GEDA minimum of one (1) year of paid work experience

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

A valid driver’s license and a vehicle that is registered with the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles and insured as required by Ohio Mandatory Insurance Laws. Travel between library locations using your personal vehicle is required.
