Great Plains Tribal Leaders Health Board is seeking a Health Educator for part-time engagement in Fort Thompson, SD to plan, implement, and evaluate culturally responsive education programs for American Indian communities.

The role emphasizes Tribal teachings, trauma-informed practice, and collaboration with tribal governance and community systems to address health disparities and promote holistic well-being. Travel and outreach are key components.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with relevant experience; or AA with 3+ years; or HS diploma with 5+ years’ progressive experience.
• Experience working with American Indian populations and knowledge of traditional practices.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and collaborate across departments.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure day-to-day project implementation and outreach within Great Plains Area tribes.
• Document activities, travel reports, and material dissemination; provide progress updates.
• Collaborate with health specialists and tribal communities to determine health needs.
• Prepare and distribute culturally appropriate education materials (flyers, reports, visuals).
• Develop and present health education programs at trainings, conferences, or schools.
• Disseminate health promotion resources and literature.
