Qualifications

• Experience with American Indian populations and knowledge of traditional, cultural and spiritual practices.
• Ability to resolve issues with other departments without direct supervision.
• Flexibility to alter plans/routines when needed and maintain composure.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as necessary.
• Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and related Internet technologies.
• Valid driver’s license and up-to-date certifications as required by regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day project implementation and outreach within Great Plains Area tribes.
• Document activities, travel reports, and disseminate materials; provide progress updates.
• Collaborate with health specialists and tribal communities to assess health needs.
• Develop and distribute culturally appropriate health education materials and visuals.
• Develop and present health education programs at workshops, conferences, and schools.
• Disseminate health promotion resources and disease prevention materials.
• Conduct health needs assessments and public health surveys as needed.
• Integrate culture-based approaches with evidence-based practices.
