Job summary

Great Plains Tribal Health is seeking a Health Educator to plan, implement, and evaluate culturally responsive health education programs for American Indian individuals, families, and Elders. The role integrates Tribal teachings with evidence-based public health to address health disparities and promote physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

The Health Educator will work within Tribal governance and community systems, travel as needed, and report to the Program Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering health education and promoting community health education programs.
• Familiarity with American Indian populations and Tribal cultural practices is preferred.
• Ability to interpret and present health information to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outreach and educational activities with Great Plains Area tribes within established timelines.
• Document and maintain records of activities, travel reports, and disseminated materials; provide progress updates to the Program Manager.
• Prepare culturally appropriate education materials and present health education at trainings, conferences, and communities.
