Job summary

Linn‑Benton Community College seeks a part-time faculty member to teach Mathematics for CTE in welding programs at Albany Campus. This pooled posting accepts applications on an ongoing basis to build a qualified candidate pool for immediate review when openings arise.

Minimum qualifications include a degree or certificate in a relevant field and at least four years of occupational experience; a Bachelor’s in math/physics is preferred, with prior teaching experience in higher ed or secondary

Qualifications

• Applicable certificates or degree for the career technical fields.
• A minimum of four years’ experience in an applicable occupational area.
• Seven years of successful experience in an applicable occupational area will be considered as an equivalency for the degree/certificate requirement.
• Prefer Bachelor’s degree in math or physics.
• Teaching experience in a high school, community college, or university setting preferred.
• Experience with a learning management system, zoom, and adaptive software, such as ALEKS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach math classes in CTE programs.
• Prepare and develop materials for classes utilizing approved course outcomes in a variety of teaching modalities.
• Complete all administrative tasks associated with teaching a course: assign and grade student work, establish reasonable communication with students, report student attainment of course outcomes, maintain student records, comply with college policies and processes related to teaching workload.
• Keep abreast of development in subject area, educational technology, innovative teaching techniques, and continuously strive for professional improvement.
• Establish and maintain opportunities for reasonable and consistent out-of-class contact with students.
• Exemplify and promote the mission of LBCC.
• Connect students to college support services and resources to promote student success and retention.
• Work effectively with students and staff of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and ages.
• Interact with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as part of a team.
• Participate as assigned in occasional department and advisory meetings.
