Job summary

University of Washington Continuum College is seeking part-time Course Developers to create and revise content for non-credit programs aimed at adult learners. You will work with instructional designers, program managers, and video production staff to build lessons, readings, assessments, activities, and slide decks.

These extension lecturer roles are academic staff, not faculty, and involve flexible, project-based assignments with variable hours.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a UWC2 Course Developer or Extension Lecturer.
• Minimum 5 years of experience relevant to course subject matter.
• Flexible, open to innovative delivery methods.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design team and subject matter experts to create high quality course curriculum including readings, assessments, activities, and slide presentations.
• Script and record video and/or audio content.
• Develop teaching notes to orient future instructors to content.
• Ensure materials meet University accessibility standards.
• Deliverables completed on time as per contract and scope of work.
• Respond to feedback from UWC2 staff and advisory board members.
• Participate in project kick‑offs and check‑in meetings.
