Peralta Community College District is seeking qualified Part-Time Faculty to provide high-quality instruction and student support in alignment with the District's mission of advancing equity, student success, and academic excellence.

Assignments are made on an as-needed basis and may include day, evening, weekend, online, or hybrid classes at any of the District's colleges. Instructors promote equity and student success through engaging, inclusive teaching and timely assessment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with 2+ years of related professional experience.
• Associate degree with 6+ years of related professional experience.
• Equivalency recognized by the District.
• Understanding and respect for diverse student backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in accordance with approved outlines and student learning outcomes.
• Prepare and deliver inclusive, student-centered instruction using evidence-based teaching practices.
• Develop and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials, assignments, and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance in a timely and equitable manner; maintain accurate academic records.
• Submit grades by established deadlines.
• Create an inclusive, respectful learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
• Maintain regular communication with students and respond promptly to inquiries.
• Utilize the District’s LMS and other instructional technologies as appropriate.
• Comply with District policies, collective bargaining agreements, accreditation standards, and applicable regulations.
• Participate in department meetings and professional development for part-time faculty.
