Job summary

York Post Acute Care Center is seeking a part-time Cook to join our dining team. Shifts are 11am-7pm, and Daily Pay is available. You will prepare meals from planned menus, follow recipes, and help ensure resident nutrition and satisfaction in a clean, safe kitchen.

Applicants should have a high school diploma (preferred) and prior food-prep experience. The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Prior experience in food preparation or culinary services strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide meals appropriate to residents' needs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and quality.
• Strong teamwork skills with a commitment to providing a positive dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Review menus, production sheets, and prep guides to determine types and quantities of food to be prepared.
• Prepare all meal items according to planned menus and standardized recipes in a sanitary manner.
• Utilize nutritionally equivalent substitutes when required to meet dietary needs.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively (blenders, mixers, fryers, slicers, steamers, processors, ovens).
• Follow standardized recipes and dietary guidelines to ensure consistency and nutritional requirements.
• Complete assigned tasks in a timely, organized manner to support kitchen operations.
• Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
• Collaborate with dietary team members to meet resident dietary needs.
