Job summary

Kamehameha Schools Maui is seeking a part-time Cook to join our Food Services team. The role supports nutritious meals for students with a focus on teamwork and community values.

The position offers a regular part-time schedule, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities to engage with local farms and learn about ingredient sourcing. Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for requirements.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to obtain National Food Safety and Sanitation Certification within first two weeks.
• Willingness to drive or learn to drive a large food service transporting vehicle safely and operate related equipment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently as needed.
• Ability to work cohesively within a team to meet production and service standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains cleanliness of dish room and related equipment.
• Maintains and logs temperatures of food and equipment.
• Cleans and sanitizes kitchen appliances and equipment.
• Maintains, cleans and sanitizes all prep areas.
• Assists with food preparation according to recipes and procedures.
• Assists with inventory control and storage procedures.
• Sets up/hot food stations and informs cooks when supplies are low.
• Transports, loads and unloads supplies and equipment.
