Job summary

Seabury is a premier Not-for-Profit Active Life Plan Community located on 66 acres of Connecticut countryside. The Cook II position is a critical role within our culinary team, responsible for preparing high-quality meals that meet our standards for taste, presentation, and safety.

This part-time role works varied shifts Monday-Friday and every other weekend, collaborating with kitchen staff to uphold food safety regulations, assist in menu preparation, and ensure timely service and customer

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of professional cooking experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper kitchen sanitation practices.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and operate kitchen equipment safely.
• Strong communication and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards.
• Assist in the preparation and presentation of food to ensure consistency and appeal.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to manage inventory and minimize food waste.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff as needed.
• Adapt to changing menu items and special dietary requests efficiently.
