Job summary

Frontida is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare and deliver meals according to residents’ nutritional needs while upholding safety and sanitation standards. The role emphasizes high-quality food and warm resident service.

The Cook will manage menus, assist residents during meals, monitor temperatures, and maintain a clean kitchen under the Executive Director/House Manager. Experience with ServSafe and CBRF dietary guidelines is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must complete probationary period successfully.
• Must have CBRF Dietary and ServSafe training.
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions for reading recipes, dietary needs and meal orders are part of the cook’s day.
• Ability to prepare food, cook, serve meals and assist the residents in eating, as well as be able to operate kitchen equipment and maintain clean, safe and orderly food preparation and storage areas.
• Desired: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Represent Frontida with professionalism, always embracing Frontida’s culture.
• Spend within the food and dietary supplies budgets and document all expenses.
• Follow current Frontida approved menu and document substitutions as needed.
• Create weekly shopping list using vendor order guide and inventory weekly to minimize waste.
• Maintain proper storage, dating, rotation and cleanliness per safety standards.
• Monitor meal service to ensure resident satisfaction and take feedback.
• Ensure meals look appetizing and served at proper temperature and texture.
• Check and label items in storage; discard food past 3 days or unsafe items.
• Meet modified diet needs per physician orders (thickened liquids, puree, soft/ bite-sized).
• Assist residents with eating as needed and keep kitchen clean and organized.
• Document temperatures and keep menu records per standards.
• Learn community protocols and state regulations.
