Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Cook I in the New York area. You will be responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing a variety of hot and cold foods for all meal periods and events, following Sodexo’s culinary standards.

In a fast-paced kitchen, you’ll ensure food safety and sanitation, maintain a clean workstation, and support teamwork to deliver high-quality dishes. Open availability and flexible shifts are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, cook and present hot and cold foods for all meals and events in accordance with Sodexo culinary standards.
• Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment ensuring food is prepared safely, accurately, and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation and support kitchen teamwork.
• Uphold high standards of food safety and sanitation and follow client requirements.
