A leading pizza establishment seeks dedicated kitchen staff to join their team. Responsibilities include preparing pizza and hot food products, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring a clean work environment. Ideal candidates must be flexible, able to communicate effectively, and be physically capable of handling food products. Work includes food prep before cooking and assisting in closing the kitchen, making it suitable for those who thrive in a fast-paced setting.
Accurately and efficiently prepare pizza, pepperoni rolls, calzones, pokey sticks, and other hot food products. Prepare and portion food products before cooking. Also perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating, boxing, and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates. We are really looking for people who can work Sunday. If you can work Sunday please put that in the why we should hire you section.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assumes 100% responsibility for the quality of products served.
Know and comply consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, prep cooler, pasta cookers, convection oven, and refrigeration equipment.
Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
Handle, stores and rotates all products properly.
Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
Close the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen.
Attend all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty.
Be flexible and able to assist, including preparation and closing in all areas in the back of house (salads, meats, vegetables,) when needed.
Maintain attendance in accordance with the employee handbook.
Answering the phone & taking call in customer orders.
Other duties, tasks and/or projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Be able to communicate and understand English.
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).
