Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare full course meals and serve hot and cold foods attractively.
• Maintain all food prep, cooking and storage areas in a clean, sanitary, and safe condition.
• Follow standard recipes and meet food production needs for residents and events.
• Attend and participate in assigned meetings and agency fundraising efforts.

With eleven locations across the Chicagoland area, H.A.S. provides services and resources to individuals at every stage in their behavioral/recovery journey so that they can be successful and become contributing members of their communities.JOB SUMMARYUnder the supervision of the Program Manager, the Cook prepares food according to standard recipes and food production needs of the residents, and for special functions for the facility.ESSENTIAL DUTIES*Must be flexible with work schedule (days/weekends/evenings) 5am-1pm This is a part time roleMust be able to prepare full course meals and serve all hot and cold foods in an attractive and appetizing manner.Ensures that the correct quantity of food is prepared and that prepared food is kept at the proper temperature.Maintains all food prep, cooking and storage areas in an organized, sanitary and safe condition.Attends and participates in assigned meetings.Participates in agency fundraising efforts.Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIESAbility to communicate fluently in English and Spanish preferred.Willingness to work flexible hours.Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.Must be able to work standing up for the majority of the shift.H.A.S. requires all staff to work onsite.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEMust have a high school diploma/GED.Two (2) years of food service experience.Must obtain and maintain the following three Food Safety Certifications within 3 months of employment:ServSafe Food HandlerServSafe Manager (Certified Food Protection Manager/CFPM)ServSafe AllergensPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSSedentary work.
