This is a part-time position. Do you have experience as a line cook, prep cook, chef, restaurant staff, or in the food service industry? Then this job is for you! Your primary responsibility is to take excellent care of our customers by satisfying each customer's needs and exceeding their expectations. This requires product knowledge, food preparation skills, sales ability, customer relations skills, and cooperation with fellow associates to create an incredible place to work and shop.

You will be responsible for preparing, processing, packaging, and stocking products according to Fresh Foods Standards. Additionally, you will provide customer service, clean work areas, unload stock, and reload salvage products following standards.

To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. Associates must be at least 18 years old.

Personal Skills

Exceptional interpersonal skills. Willingness to participate in and successfully complete required training. Ability to work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Culinary experience and sales skills are preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read and understand instructions, correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations using American units of measurement.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to understand and carry out detailed instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates and Licenses

Completion of company's training including orientation, food sanitation, safety, and product knowledge.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of cooking terminology, ingredients, food safety, and proper use of kitchen equipment. Ability to follow directions, determine doneness, and garnish food appropriately.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand, walk, handle objects, reach, talk, hear, taste, and smell regularly. Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must lift up to 30 pounds regularly, up to 50 pounds occasionally, and reach from 6-72 inches. Vision abilities include close, color, and depth perception.

Work Environment

Moderate environment with exposure to hot, cold, moving parts, fumes, chemicals, and noise. Hazards include hot surfaces, steam, wet floors, grease, knives, and electrical shocks.
