Job summary

Friends Select Aquatics in Philadelphia seeks a part-time Assistant Swim Coach to support Age Group and Senior programs for swimmers aged 6–18. The role emphasizes developing technique within our curriculum and coordinating with other coaches.

The ideal candidate will bring coaching enthusiasm, strong communication, and a willingness to obtain USA Swimming and ASCA certifications within 60 days of hire. Evening and weekend availability is required, with travel to meets possible.

Qualifications

• High School/college degree preferred.
• Passion for coaching and developing competitive swimmers.
• Strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills.
• Experience with competitive swimming (+2 years preferred).
• CPR, First Aid, Coaches Safety, and Safe Sport certifications (or ability to obtain).
• ASCA Level 1 certified or above (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop quality swimmers through the established curriculum focused on fundamental stroke technique.
• Assess the needs of each swimmer and provide appropriate support and guidance.
• Collaborate and communicate regularly with other coaches.
• Plan, prepare, and conduct team practices in accordance with the curriculum.
• Recommend practice level placement and changes for all swimmers.
• Attend weekend meets as required.
• Be willing to acquire and maintain USA Swimming and ASCA certifications within 60 days of Hire.
