Job summary

Heritage Family in Austintown, OH is seeking a Part-Time Funeral Assistant to support funeral and memorial services with dignity and care. You will assist the Funeral Director, prepare service areas, and help with transportation and logistics in a respectful, organized manner.

Responsibilities include preparing chapels, guiding guests, assisting with caskets, and maintaining public spaces. You must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and pass a background check; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare chapels and viewing areas, including arranging flowers, lighting, and preparing seating.
• Assist with the dignified placement and movement of caskets and the deceased with care and respect.
• Distribute guest books, memorial cards, prayer cards, and other service materials.
• Serve as a pallbearer or assist others in ceremonial roles as needed.
