Job summary

The Arc Southern Chesapeake is hiring part-time Personal Support Associates to help individuals access the community, build independence, and participate in activities of their choice. Responsibilities include personal care, transportation, and supporting daily living skills in homes, recreational settings, or the community.

Candidates should be 18+, hold a high school diploma or GED, have a valid driver’s license, and pass a Maryland background check.

Qualifications

18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
A valid driving license.
Can pass a criminal background check mandated by the State of Maryland.
A good driving record with no more than 2 points on the license.
A reliable vehicle to be used in transporting individuals we serve.
Enjoy assisting people and hands on support.

Responsibilities

Assists individuals to meet physical and personal management needs by teaching skills and providing supports.
Assists with household management and transportation needs to maximize independence.
Assists with and/or dispenses medication (as certified) or other prescribed medical treatments as necessary.
Supports individuals in developing friendships and other relationships.
Maintains collaborative professional relationships with individuals and support team members.
Implements individualized plan to achieve specific outcomes derived from preferences and needs.
