Job summary

City of Baytown is seeking a part-time Recreation Technician to support parks and recreation programs, events, and office operations at the City facilities. You will assist with community events, seasonal programs, athletic leagues, and promotional efforts while engaging residents of all ages.

The role also involves field setup, equipment inventory, and daily office duties, requiring a friendly, energetic, and organized individual who can manage multiple tasks both indoors and outdoors.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record (ability to obtain TX license within 90 days).
• Must enjoy working with the public and be friendly.
• Ability to follow written or oral instructions.
• Ability to speak to people in a friendly, welcoming and helpful manner.

Responsibilities

• Assist with special events, summer programs, and athletic leagues.
• Support daily activities and event setups at Community Center and Wayne Gray Sports Complex.
• Assist with equipment/inventory setup, breakdown, and maintenance for activities.
• Prepare and distribute promotional materials; coordinate with citizens, businesses and media; recruit volunteers.
• Assist office operations: phones, registrations, facility reservations, and office supplies.
• Perform periodic field maintenance: drag, rake, chalk fields, apply drying agents.
• Execute other related duties as assigned.
