Job summary

Louisville Metro Government is seeking a part-time Recreation Program Assistant to support community centers and activities. You will help facilitators, provide friendly customer service, and maintain facilities.

You will lead recreational programs, assist with schedules, setup equipment, and ensure safety and inclusivity while engaging participants across varied evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• CPR/AED/First Aid or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Availability to work a varied schedule including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, solution-focused customer service to visitors.
• Provides technical assistance and instruction on use of equipment and facilities.
• Assists with marketing and outreach efforts for community engagement.
• Independently leads recreational programs, ensuring safety and quality.
• Assists in development and implementation of program schedules and events.
• Prepares activity areas, sets up equipment, ensures cleanup and storage.
• Collaborates with staff to ensure smooth program delivery.
• Open/close facility operations and report maintenance needs.
• Engage participants to foster involvement and inclusivity.
