Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Dunn, NC, seeks a psychiatrist for our Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT). The role is on-site, part-time (12 hours weekly), and focuses on community-based psychiatric care within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and coordinating care across mental health, substance use, and primary care services. Board-certified psychiatrists with NC license preferred, committed to recovery-centered practice.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree (MD or DO) with an active, unrestricted NC license.
• Board Certification in Psychiatry (ASAM certification or eligibility preferred)
• 5+ years experience treating individuals with mental illness
• Expertise in treating serious mental illness, including schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar I disorder with psychosis

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management
• Deliver outpatient psychotherapy in community settings
• Utilize evidence-based and emerging best practices in psychiatric care
• Coordinate between mental health, substance use, and primary healthcare services
• Consult with primary care providers to support comprehensive health needs
• Guide and support ACT team members in clinical decision-making
