Job summary

Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital in Baltimore is seeking a part-time Community Outreach Worker to engage residents in health fairs, community events and partner meetings.

You will provide one-on-one education and group presentations on B’more for Healthy Babies themes, connecting families to primary care resources. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid Maryland driver's license, and 1 year of community outreach experience in Southeast Baltimore.

Qualifications

• This is a part time, 20 hour/week position.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Current MD Driver's license and personal vehicle required.
• Community Health Worker certificate
• 1 years' experience in community outreach in Southeast Baltimore area
• Knowledge of African American community, organizations, and culture in Baltimore City

Responsibilities

• This is a part time, 20 hour/week position.
• The Community Outreach Worker will engage in community outreach through participation in health fairs, community events and meetings with partner organizations.
• The Outreach Worker will provide one-on-one education, as well as group presentations, regarding B’more for Healthy Babies themes.
• The Outreach Worker will be familiar with resources available in Southeast Baltimore and assist families in connecting to these resources.
• Families without access to primary care will be referred to BMS services.
• The Outreach Worker will develop and maintain relationships with community organizations in the Patterson Park North and East area in order to disseminate and support the work of B’more for Healthy Babies.
