Job summary

Girls on the Run Michiana is seeking a part-time Community Engagement Coordinator to support program delivery across Michiana. This role focuses on digital communications, media relations, and community outreach events, reporting to the Executive Director. Expect about 10–12 hours per week, with more in spring and less in summer.

You will work with volunteers, coordinate events and content, and help grow GOTR’s presence in the community. Residency in the Michiana area is preferred.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to communicate empowerment, self-worth, and health topics clearly.
• Commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity and access (IDEA) in professional practice.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and social media tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute digital communications strategy in collaboration with the Executive Director.
• Create engaging social media content and campaigns to boost community engagement.
• Draft press releases, media alerts, and nurture relationships with local media.
• Coordinate and attend 15–20 outreach events per year with program staff input.
• Coordinate volunteer volunteers and manage outreach events logistics.
• Track event outcomes and leads routed to staff for follow-up.
