Job summary

The University of Bridgeport is seeking a Part-Time Diving Coach to support the Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Coach in NCAA Division II programs. You will coach, develop student-athletes, recruit, and uphold a positive, competitive team culture while ensuring compliance with NCAA, conference, and University policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
• CPR/AED certification.
• College participation and/or coaching preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Coaching and/or participation at collegiate level preferred; demonstrated ability and passion to teach and demonstrate skills in diving.
• Ability to work weekdays, evenings and weekends.
• Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and meet University of Bridgeport’s Driving Requirements.
• Willingness to fundraise.
• Ability to interact with all levels of the university community.

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop NCAA Division II divers in springboard 1M & 3M events through daily practices and competition.
• Design and implement training plans emphasizing technical skill development, safety, and performance improvement.
• Provide individualized instruction, video analysis, and meet preparation.
• Recruit and evaluate prospective student‑athletes who align with the University’s academic and athletic standards.
• Assist with travel, meet management, equipment maintenance, and other program operations.
• Foster academic success, sportsmanship, leadership, and personal development among student‑athletes.
• Maintain compliance with all NCAA Division II, conference, and University rules and regulations.
• Collaborate with the Head Coach to support the overall success of the men's and women's swimming and diving program.
