Job summary

Stonehill College seeks an Assistant Dive Coach to support the head coach in recruiting and day-to-day diving operations. You will help with practice planning, biomechanical feedback, and maintaining a positive team environment that upholds NCAA and institutional standards.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to work early mornings and some weekends, and a commitment to student-athlete development and integrity in competition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; prior swim coaching at high school/club/NAIA.

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach in recruiting student-athletes and game-day preparation.
• Coach diving program in a manner that promotes sportsmanship and integrity and complies with NCAA, conference, and institutional rules.
• Communicate effectively with head coach and student-athletes.
• Establish and maintain good relationships with student-athletes and staff.
• Provide biomechanical feedback to teams, groups, and individuals; work weekdays with early mornings/evenings and some weekends.
• Coach at least 3 practices per week and be available for occasional recruiting.

Position Summary

Assists the head coach in the recruitment of perspective student-athletes as well as game-day and practice preparation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Effectively assist in coaching a competitive diving program in a manner which promotes sportsmanship and integrity, ensuring compliance with all NCAA , Northeast conference, and institutional rules and regulations

Communicates effectively and often with the head coach and the student-athletes

Establish and maintain good personal relationships with student-athletes and staff

Assist in providing a supportive, encouraging, and challenging environment for the student-athletes

Provide effective and corrective biomechanical feedback to the team, small groups, and individuals Ability to work weekdays -early mornings and/or early evenings, some weekends

Coaching at least 3 practices per week and being available for occasional recruiting

Education and/or Experience

Successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree and previous swim coaching experience at the high school, club, or NAIA level.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous collegiate dive coaching experience preferred.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor environment that is warm. The employee may get wet. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate but can become loud.
