Job summary

Carolinas College of Health Sciences is seeking a part-time faculty member to provide instruction and clinical duties for a semester, online and in Charlotte. The role emphasizes varied teaching methods, student evaluation, and syllabi development with the Program Chair.

Requirements include a Master’s in physical science or related field with graduate hours, plus 2+ years teaching/clinical experience and licensure as required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 10 graduate hours in Physical Science, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, Geology, Astronomy, Environmental Science, or a closely related scientific discipline; or
• Master's degree in another field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Physical Science, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, Geology, Astronomy, Environmental Science, or related physical science coursework.
• Minimum of 2 years post secondary teaching experience and/or clinical experience preferred.
• Current unrestricted valid license, certification and/or registration issued by the appropriate administrative body required.

Responsibilities

• Implements current, traditional, and innovative teaching methodologies whether in class, clinical or the laboratory to meet student learning outcomes.
• Participates in the comprehensive evaluation process for courses, students, program curriculum and clinical units.
• Completes end of term responsibilities, including exams, attendance records and materials to the Program Chair.
• Provides conferences/instruction as needed and serves as a resource to colleagues.
• Maintains learner-centered instruction through distance delivery mechanisms.
• Participates in development of syllabi and courses with the Program Chair.
