Job summary

Class 101 of the Treasure Coast is seeking a part-time College Planning Advisor to work in our Palm City office. You will meet with students and families, guiding them through the college search, admissions, and financial aid processes using the Class 101 curriculum.

The role emphasizes helping students identify colleges, manage budgets, and prepare essays, while delivering regular meeting summaries and deadlines as part of a proven system.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in an applicable field or equivalent experience.
• Flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends.
• Excellent relationship-building skills with teenagers.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to learn and execute a proven system.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort using web browsers, Zoom, and Google Workspace (Docs/Sheets/Slides).

Responsibilities

• Deliver effective meetings with students to educate and empower them on navigating the college process using the Class 101 curriculum.
• Encourage, motivate, and keep students on track as they progress through admissions.
• Gain expertise in Class 101 methodologies and materials.
• Identify student goals for college and career, and understand family budget requirements.
• Counsel students and families to identify scholarships and financial aid resources.
• Provide expertise for developing college lists and regular meeting summaries.
• Serve as a reliable source for students and families and meet application deadlines.
• Develop and interpret summaries of progress on standardized tests.
• Guide students through essay writing to create main, supplemental, honors, and scholarship essays.
