Job summary

Class 101 in Springfield, MO is seeking an Academic College Planning Advisor to guide high school students through the college search, admissions, and financial aid process. You will deliver one-on-one planning using Class 101 curriculum and partner with families to create a roadmap for college success.

The ideal candidate has an undergraduate degree, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to learn and execute a proven system while meeting deadlines, including evenings

Qualifications

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including some nights and weekends
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, particularly with teenagers

  • Experience with and a willingness to lead a classroom setting, facilitating classroom learning for up to 20 students
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable with technology, including MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  • Experience with social media is a plus

  • Guiding students through the essay writing process to create and refine main, supplemental, honors, and scholarship essays.

We support them in the steps necessary to achieve those goals in the most cost-effective manner possible.

We are seeking a college planner at our Springfield, MO office – someone who will work collaboratively with a team to provide direct college planning to high school students through individual meetings. The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, dedicated to the needs of our clients, and willing to learn and execute a proven system for delivering college planning.

Academic College Planning Advisor Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering effective meetings with students to educate and empower them on how to navigate the college process using Class 101 curriculum.

Skills and Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in an applicable field of study, including business, education, and social sciences, or equivalent related career experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including some nights and weekends.
  • Excellent relationship‑building skills, particularly with teenagers.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn and execute a proven system.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with and a willingness to lead a classroom setting, facilitating classroom learning for up to 20 students.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The successful applicant will be comfortable using technology. At a minimum the applicant should be adept using web browsers and MS Office suite applications, particularly MS Word and MS PowerPoint.
  • Experience with social media and social media marketing is a plus.

Compensation: $22.00‑$28.00 per hour.
