Job summary

First Presbyterian Church in Dallas seeks a part-time College and Career Readiness Coordinator to guide middle and high school students through social-emotional development, education navigation, and career exploration. You will develop a comprehensive career development system and coordinate mentoring, tutoring, and college preparation activities.

The role reports to the Manager of Children and Youth Programs and emphasizes collaboration with families, schools, and community partners to support

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree required in education, social work, psychology, or related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• At least 3–5 years of experience with schools or higher education programs, enrollment processes and career advising/counseling.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with setting goals and steps in education and career planning.
• Build rapport and trust with students to support goal completion and advising.
• Coordinate mentoring and tutoring programs and recruit/train volunteers.
• Conduct mid-year and year reviews of mentoring/tutoring programs.
• Coordinate events to engage mentors/mentees and support retention.
• Assist with FAFSA/TASFA, grants, and scholarship applications.

Education

Bachelor's degree (Required) in Education, Social Work, Psychology and/or other related field
