Job summary

SUNY Erie Community College is seeking an adjunct faculty member for Industrial Technology to teach machining courses on a part-time basis. The role includes preparing lesson plans, materials, and ensuring proper student evaluation in line with department guidelines.

Qualified candidates bring CNC, CAD/CAM, GD&T skills and the ability to supervise students, with minimum industrial experience and teaching exposure. The department stresses safety training and compliant classroom management.

Qualifications

• Candidates with considerable industrial experience combined with some teaching experience at the industrial and/or the college level will be considered.
• Ability to supervise student work.
• Ability to provide safety training classes for people using machine tools.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of subject.
• Provides students with appropriate learning materials and expertise in assigned subject(s).
• Prepares course syllabi and outcomes.
• Encourages student participation.
• Evaluates students’ performance based on course learning outcomes.
• Establishes and maintains an organized and disciplined classroom environment.
• Is responsive to students and provides students with assistance and guidance.
• Adheres to all College, Department as well as applicable County policies.
