JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State is seeking several CNA Instructors to teach at various locations across PA, including:

  • Hazleton area (Luzerne, Schuylkill, Columbia Counties)
  • Hamburg/Reading area
  • Allentown area
  • York area
  • Harrisburg area
  • Danville area

The CNA Instructor will be responsible for equipping students with the skills to meet patients' physical, physiological, and psychological needs. The goal is to prepare students to pass the PA State Licensing Exam and to work confidently in healthcare facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach CNA training courses using the curriculum and conduct skills assessments in clinical labs.
  • Evaluate and document student progress through testing and skills assessments.
  • Apply nursing fundamentals, standards of care, and sound decision-making in training activities.
  • Engage students through discussions and skills instruction.
  • Set clear expectations, communicate effectively, and encourage participation.
  • Monitor curriculum adherence and student assignments.
  • Maintain accurate records, including attendance, student files, and exam pass rates.
  • Assist students with registration for the PA CNA Licensing Exam.
Qualifications:
  • Current RN or LPN license for at least 2 years.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in a long-term care facility as an RN or LPN.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain the Train the Educator (TTE) Nurse Aide Instructor certification.
  • Current BLS certification is preferred.
