Job summary

Houston Community College seeks an Instructor, Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - Part Time Adjunct to teach CNA classes and lead the instructional area. You will provide leadership, oversee certification testing, and ensure curriculum alignment across theory and clinical components.

Responsibilities include facilitating in-service meetings, maintaining records, distributing certificates, and coordinating with the Program Director on academic issues.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed RN or LVN in the state of Texas.
• 1 year nursing experience in a long term care facility required.
• Must have completed a course in teaching adults or have experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aides.
• Additional nursing experience and teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach CNA courses at the designated time and location (theory and clinical skills).
• Oversee CNA students during State certification testing.
• Follow department curriculum and approved materials.
• Conduct in-service meetings for part time CNA instructors.
• Maintain attendance and grades records and submit by deadlines.
• Distribute certificates and advise on subsequent courses.
• Consult with Program Director about academic or discipline issues.
• Advise part time instructors about issues in the classroom.
• Observe CNA classes and recommend improvements.
• Review and update CNA curriculum as needed.
