Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston is seeking a Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) for the part-time day shift.

This unlicensed role monitors cardiac rhythms, assists with activities of daily living, and delivers basic nursing care under RN supervision, contributing to a safe, patient-centered environment.

Required certifications include patient care certification with related dysrhythmia knowledge; BLS within 30 days; previous monitor tech experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Certification in Patient Care required (M.A. / CNA / EMT / Paramedic / Patient Care Tech, etc.).
• Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current
• Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician, preferred.
• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office, preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• The PCA II monitors cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitor.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Provides basic nursing care under RN supervision and maintains a safe environment.
