Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME, seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant II (PCA II) for the Med Surg Unit on a part-time daytime schedule. You will provide direct patient care, assist with activities of daily living, and support the RN under supervision.

Applicants must hold CNA or equivalent certification, BLS, dysrhythmia interpretation, and be prepared for acute care settings. Prior monitor technician, phlebotomy, and EKG certifications are preferred; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• Current Certification in Patient Care required (M.A. / CNA / EMT / Paramedic / Patient Care Tech, etc.).
• Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current
• Six months previous experience as Monitor Technician, preferred.
• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office, preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) performs direct care in the department setting under RN supervision.
• Provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists with activities of daily living.
• Maintains a safe environment and monitors dysrhythmia.
