Job summary

Samuel Merritt University is seeking a part-time HSSC Clinical Skills Lab Coordinator to support clinical skills labs in the HSSC. The role coordinates equipment setup, inventory, and basic maintenance, ensuring a safe, functional learning environment for nursing and allied health students.

The coordinator works with faculty and lab staff to manage schedules, assist with simulation equipment, and handle routine cleaning and troubleshooting as needed. Non-exempt position with hourly pay.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
• 1+ years of internet navigation for research
• Commitment to service excellence
• Administrative, organizational & prioritizing skills
• Good judgment and problem solving
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily HSSC calendars and assist in setup/cleanup of equipment for labs
• Assist faculty and students with operation of skills equipment
• Perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs
• Organize supplies and maintain inventory using the HSSC system
• Clean equipment regularly
• Provide supplies/equipment for open lab hours for nursing students
• Maintain a safe, clean, functional learning environment
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure proper usage
• Attend HSSC staff meetings
• Perform other duties as required
• Provide cross-coverage for simulation setup and operation
• Run basic simulation equipment and software (EMS, Laerdal high-fidelity manikins)
• Support simulations during absences
