Job summary

Joyce University in Grand Rapids is seeking a Part-Time Clinical Nursing Instructor to bring hands-on nursing experience into the classroom and clinical sites.

You will mentor nursing students, connect real-world practice to coursework, and continue your own clinical practice while teaching 1-2 shifts per week.

Required is RN license in Michigan and a Master's in Nursing; 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience is preferred, with tuition reimbursement opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered RN license in the State of Michigan.
• Master's degree in Nursing required.
• 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Guide nursing students through hands-on clinical experiences in local healthcare settings.
• Connect real-world nursing practice to what students are learning in their courses.
• Coach and mentor students as they develop clinical skills, judgment, communication, and confidence.
• Observe student performance and provide meaningful feedback and evaluation.
• Recognize opportunities for additional support and help students develop through coaching and remediation.
• Collaborate with Joyce faculty and staff to support a consistent, student-centered learning experience.
• Stay current in your nursing practice and bring current clinical knowledge into your teaching.
• Participate in select university activities such as faculty meetings, pinning ceremonies, and graduation.
