Pay rate ranges from $1,170 to $1,263 per FLH. The position bridges clinical expertise with teaching, mentorship, and leadership to develop skilled dental hygienists.

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD from an accredited institution.
• Active Maryland dental license.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Minimum of two years of clinical dentistry experience.
• Education or clinical supervision experience preferred.
• Knowledge of dental hygiene concepts and clinical practice.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Commitment to evidence-based dentistry and lifelong learning.
• Familiarity with dental software (Dentrix, TalEval) and EHRs preferred.
• Professional Liability Insurance (Claims Made and Occurrence).

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive dental hygiene services including exams, diagnostics, and emergencies.
• Consult on cases with medically compromised patients and modify treatment plans.
• Prescribe, interpret, and diagnose conditions from radiographs.
• Oversee and approve patient treatment plans per regulations and guidelines.
• Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed for education and patient care.
• Evaluate and support student performance through hands-on teaching.
• Ensure infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with faculty to enhance student clinical knowledge.
• Educate students on professional and ethical responsibilities.
• Participate in faculty meetings and curriculum development as needed.
• Assist with accreditation documentation and processes.
• Support the Program Director with additional duties.
• Prescribe medication as needed.
