Job summary

Denville Free Public Library in Denville, NJ is hiring a Circulation Assistant part-time to staff the busy circulation desk. You will check materials in and out, issue library cards, place holds, shelve items, and help patrons locate materials.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, strong customer service and communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to learn Koha library software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience in a customer service environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn library software.
• Prior knowledge of the Koha library system is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Charge and discharge materials at the circulation desk.
• Issue library cards, place holds, and assist patrons.
• Assist with shelving and locating materials.
• Flexible scheduling and additional duties as needed.
