Countryside YMCA in Lebanon, OH is seeking caring, energetic Childcare Teachers for a part-time role. You will help children learn and grow in a nurturing space, supporting teachers with planning, supervision, and daily routines.

The position offers the following shifts: 11:45am–5:30pm, 6:30am–12:30pm, and 7:30am–1:30pm. Part-time benefits include a complimentary YMCA membership and discounts on Y programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children preferred; not required.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred; if not certified, must obtain within 30 days of hire and stay current.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Strong communication skills with children, parents, and coworkers.
• Patience, warmth, and genuine enjoyment of working with kids.
• Solid understanding of early childhood development and teaching strategies.

Responsabilités

• Partner with the Lead Teacher on classroom planning, activities, and supervision.
• Help with feeding, dressing, and daily routines that support each child's growth.
• Encourage emotional, social, and physical development in a warm, positive environment.
• Watch for signs of developmental concerns and communicate with families as needed.
• Guide behavior using age-appropriate, positive discipline strategies.
• Model healthy habits — mealtime, rest time, and hygiene routines.
• Keep the classroom clean, sanitized, and ready for kids.
• Track daily records: observations, activities, meals, and any medications given.
• Complete point-of-service meal counts.
• Participate in annual CACFP training.
• Pitch in on other classroom duties as they come up.
