Job summary

Countryside YMCA is hiring a part-time Teacher for the Little Miami Learning Center in Maineville, OH. You will assist the Lead Teacher, support daily activities, and help maintain a safe, nurturing classroom for young children.

You will be involved in planning, feeding, learning activities, and documenting daily observations. A high school diploma is required, with 1 year of childhood experience preferred; First Aid/CPR is preferred and must be obtained if not already held, plus a background

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience with children preferred.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred; if not certified, obtain within 30 days of hire and maintain recertification.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Strong communication skills with parents, coworkers, and children.
• Patience and warmth when working with kids and their families.
• Solid knowledge of childcare principles and early childhood teaching strategies.
• Ability to create an enjoyable, welcoming classroom atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher with classroom planning, activities, assessments, and supervision.
• Attend to children's daily needs—dressing, feeding, and monitoring playtime and learning.
• Foster emotional, social, and physical growth along with a positive self-concept.
• Watch for signs of developmental or emotional concerns and communicate with families or appropriate parties when needed.
• Apply age-appropriate, positive discipline to maintain a safe classroom environment.
• Teach healthy personal habits—eating, resting, hygiene.
• Clean and sanitize toys, furniture, and equipment.
• Keep accurate records of daily observations, activities, meals, and any medications administered.
• Complete point-of-service meal counts.
• Complete annual CACFP training.
• Take on other classroom duties as needed.
