Job summary

Right At School is seeking an Educator to lead engaging activities for students at partner schools. You will create a safe, structured environment, supervise homework time, and help children build essential skills during before/after school and camps.

You'll gain hands-on experience in education and child development while collaborating with a supportive team and contributing to a positive school community. Roles include AM/PM shifts at various sites with staff collaboration.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 (preferred).
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills with both children and adults.
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part‑time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students at the start of each session; take attendance and maintain accurate records.
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons appropriate for the age group.
• Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed.
• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions, ensuring a safe and structured environment.
• Address minor conflicts or behavior issues using positive guidance techniques.
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up and drop‑off regarding their child's day.
• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to your Program Manager or site lead promptly; log incident reports.
• Set up and clean up program space and materials each day.
• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with other staff.

As an Educator, you'll work directly with kids — leading activities, facilitating a safe and structured environment, and building relationships — while gaining valuable experience in education and child development.

Educator Pay Rate: $18-20/hr (based on education and experience)

Schedule: Both shifts required for the Educator - if you're looking for more flexibility, we have substitute positions available

• Before School Shift: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 5:45am- 9am and Wed 5:45am-10am
• After School: Mon- Fri 3:15pm-6pm

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 (preferred)
• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills with both children and adults
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part‑time schedule
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout a shift
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to support additional program locations if needed

Washington State Requirements

• First Aid and hands‑on CPR
• Cleared tuberculosis (TB) test
• Food Handlers Card
• Proof of MMR
• 18+ years of age
• Proof of High School diploma/GED required
• Background Check with fingerprinting
