Job summary

Right At School in Washington state is seeking an Educator to lead activities, check in students, and guide safe, structured environments before and after school and during breaks. You’ll design age-appropriate enrichment, supervise play, assist with homework tasks, and communicate with families about daily progress and needs.

This role delivers valuable hands-on experience in education and child development, helping kids gain confidence, resilience, and school readiness while you grow

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13.
• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games.
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills with both children and adults.
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part-time schedule.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout a shift.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to support additional program locations if needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students at the start of each session; take attendance and maintain accurate records.
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons appropriate for the age group you’re working with.
• Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed.
• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions; ensure a safe environment.
• Address minor conflicts or behavior issues using positive guidance techniques.
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up/drop-off about their child’s day.
• Report incidents and safety concerns to the Program Manager; log incident reports.
• Set up and clean up program space and materials daily.
• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with other staff.

As an Educator, you’ll work directly with kids

Leading activities, facilitating a safe and structured environment, and building relationships — while gaining valuable experience in education and child development.

Educator Pay Range: $18-20 per hour (based on education and experience)

Schedule:

• Before School: Tues-Fri 6:30-9:30am, Mon 6:30am-10:30am
• After School: Mon-Fri 3:45-6pm

What You’ll Do

Washington State Requirements

• First Aid and hands‑on CPR
• Cleared tuberculosis (TB) test
• Food Handlers Card
• Proof of MMR
• 18+ years of age
• Proof of High School diploma/GED required
• Background Check with fingerprinting
