Job summary

Right At School in Washington state is hiring Educators to lead activities, support students, and create a safe, structured after-school environment. You'll greet students, plan daily enrichment, supervise homework time, and communicate with families.

This part-time, split-shift role offers meaningful, hands-on experience in education, with pay of $19–$21 per hour, eligibility for benefits, and opportunities to grow with programs serving 1,200+ schools.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 (preferred).
• Ability to lead groups of children in activities and games.
• Strong customer service and communication skills with children and adults.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in students, take attendance, and maintain records.
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons.
• Support homework time and assist with academic tasks as needed.
• Supervise students during free play, snack, and transitions.
• Address minor conflicts with positive guidance techniques.
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up/drop-off.
• Log incidents and safety concerns to the Program Manager.
• Set up and clean up space daily.
• Attend brief daily team meetings.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday Split Shift, before school and After School required. Estimated times below

• Before School: 6:15-9:30am
• After School: 3:00pm-6pm Mon-Thurs (2:00-6pm Fridays only)

Educator Pay Rate:

$19-21/hr (based on education and experience)

What You'll Do:

• Greet and check in students at the start of each session; take attendance and maintain accurate records
• Plan and lead daily activities, games, and enrichment lessons appropriate for the age group you're working with
• Facilitate homework time and support with academic tasks as needed
• Supervise students during free play, snack time, and transitions, ensuring a safe and structured environment
• Address minor conflicts or behavior issues using positive guidance techniques
• Communicate with parents/guardians at pick-up and drop-off regarding their child's day
• Report incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to your Program Manager or site lead promptly; log incident reports
• Set up and clean up program space and materials each day
• Attend brief daily team meetings to coordinate with other staff

What We’re Looking For:

• At least 1 year of experience working with children under 13 (preferred)
• Comfortable leading groups of children in activities and games
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills with both children and adults
• Reliable and punctual; able to commit to a consistent part‑time schedule
• Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout a shift
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to support additional program locations if needed

Washington State Requirements:

• First Aid and hands‑on CPR
• Cleared tuberculosis (TB) test
• Food Handlers Card
• Proof of MMR
• 18+ years of age
• Proof of High School diploma/GED required
• Background Check with fingerprinting
